Two of the biggest problems with making your own water wheel are how to mount a metal axle into a wood hole without the wood wearing and cracking up over the years and trying to get the axle exactly square to the wheel itself.   An axle 1/4" out of square can make a 5 foot wheel wobble almost 1 1/2" inches.   This metal hub plate allows you to adjust your axle so that you can minimize wheel wobble and it also allows you to balance your wheel when the balance changes due to waterlogging.   The set includes 2 hub plates, 2 bearings (pillowblock or flange mount), and a 35" steel painted axle.   The axles are slightly undersized to slide easily into the bearings.    Several sizes are available.     Custom sizes are available.  The 9" and 10" plate sets come with a 1" axle/bearings are good for most wheels up to 5 feet shipped to your home.      $340  The 11"  plate set with a 1 3/4" axle/bearings and  will handle most wheels from 6 to 8 feet shipped to your home.      $430   The 13"  plate set with a 1 3/4" axle/bearings and  will handle most wheels from 6 to 8 feet shipped to your home.      $450
